Q: How can I get rakeback?

A:  You get rakeback by signing up for a poker account through a website that offers it.  Websites, such as RakeRacers.com, receive a commission from poker rooms, such as Full Tilt Poker, for finding them poker players.  Your rakeback is a refund to you of that commission.  If you do not sign up through a rakeback website, you can not receive rakeback.

Q: Can I get an existing poker account converted to a rakeback account?

A: Probably not, but there are a few exceptions.  If your account is not being credited to any other website, then you can contact the poker site and request that your account be assigned to a rakeback affiliate.  Some websites, such as RaketheRake, will assist you with this process.  You might also be able to open an account at another poker room on the same network.  For example, if you enjoy playing at Cake Poker, but you do not have a rakeback account, you might consider getting an account at Power Poker or Players Only Poker.  They are on the same poker network with Cake Poker.  You would have access to the same poker tables as you do at Cake, but you can sign up for rakeback.

Q: Why do I have to clear my cookies before signing up for a new poker account?

A: Because you may not get the rakeback deal you are expecting if you do not.  Many poker sites slip a tiny file called a cookie onto your computer when you visit them.  This helps them keep track of who referred you to them.  If you return to that poker site at a later time, they will still track you via that cookie and not the most recent link you've clicked.  So, even if you use a link here at RakeRacers your account will be credited to the website in the cookie.  Clearing your cookie files prior to using our links will assure that you get the deal you are expecting.

Q: Can I get rakeback at Poker Stars?

A: No.  Poker Stars only pays affiliates once for referring new players.  Affiliates do not receive a recurring percentage of the players' rake, so there is no way to pay rakeback.
